Frequently Asked Questions

  1.  How do I log in?Can I change my password?

    New user – If you are a new user, you must first register for the course. Provide all the information in the Register box on the right side of page. First name, Last name, email address and 8-digit password of your choice. It must include one capital letter, one lowercase letter, one number and one special character.

    Previous user or user registered by election office – If you have been emailed a username and password use the Login box on left side of page. Your username is your email address. Use the 8-digit password originally provided as your password in your email notification.

  2. What are the login credentials for accessing the training?
    Credentials needed are your email address and 8-digit password.

  1. How do I reset my password if I forget it?
    Add your email address then click Forgot My Password button. The system will send you an email that directs you on how to change your password.
  2. Can I change my password?
    Sure thing. Once you are logged in, there is a dropdown button on the top right of the page next to your name. Click on it then click on Account>Login Information. Add your new password, it must be 8 characters long then click on Save Changes.
  3. What should I do if I encounter issues with my account access?
    If you need assistance with anything you can always send an email to alleghenycounty@electsurelearning.com. We try to answer all emails within 24 hours.
  1. How do I find my courses on the website?
    Once you are logged in you can click on the Election Dashboard at the top of the page. This will take you to the Your Courses page. Find your course and click on it. The course is typically named after the specific election that you will be working. I.e.

  2. Can I customize my dashboard or homepage?
    No 

  3. Is there a search feature to find specific content within the website? 
    Yes

  1. How do I enroll in a course?
    You will either be automatically enrolled by your election office, or you can self-register on the Log-in page.

  2. How long will I have access to my enrolled courses? 
    The courses are closed on the day of the election. We recommend not waiting until the last minute as there will be a spike in users trying to finish and it may slow the website down due to the increased traffic.

  3. Can I access my courses from multiple devices? 
    Yes.  You can access it via desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or your phone. The courses are accessible through the major web browsers, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Safari, Opera. We do not recommend Internet Explorer due to the out-of-date technology. 

  1. How do I access the course materials and resources? 
    Once you are logged in at the top of the page there will be an icon labeled “Library”. You can access backup materials there. Some material may be restricted due to your official capacity.

  2. Can I download the course materials for offline use?
    If the material is downloadable, there will be a download button to the right and you may save it to your computer.

  3. Are there any restrictions on using the course materials?
    There may be some restrictions depending on your job title on election day.

  1. Can I track my progress within a course?
    Yes. On the Lesson page you can see which lessons and quizzes you have completed.

  2. How will I know when I have completed a lesson?
    The course automatically moves you through each lesson. You must finish each lesson in order before moving to the next.

  3. Will I receive certificates or grades for completed courses? 
    Yes, a certificate with your name and the time/date you completed the course will be automatically emailed to you.

  1. What are the minimum system requirements for using the website?

        • Internet Connection: First you need to have reliable internet connection to access the online training. A broadband connection is recommended for seamless viewing of course material, videos and other multimedia content. 

        • Web Browser: A web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari or Microsoft Edge. Ensure that your browser is up to date to have the best experience. 

        • Device: The training can be accessed from desktop computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones. You should choose a device that suits your preferences and has a screen size that allows you to comfortably view and interact with your course content. 

        • User Account: You will need your email address that you provided to the Elections team and a password.

        • Media Player: You will need a media player capable of playing the video format used in the course.

  2. Are there any recommended browsers for optimal performance?
    Use Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge for the best user experience.

  3. How do I troubleshoot common technical issues?

        • Clear Browser Cache: If you are experiencing issues with the training system, such as pages not loading correctly or errors occurring, try clearing your browser cache. This will remove temporary files and may resolve any conflicts or outdated data.

        • Check Internet Connection: Ensure that you have a stable internet connection. If you’re experiencing slow loading times or intermittent connectivity, try restarting your modem or connecting to a different network to see if the problem persists.

        • Try a Different Browser or Device: If you’re encountering issues with a specific browser, try accessing the training system using a different browser. Additionally, if possible, test accessing the system from a different device to see if the issue is device-specific.

        • Disable Browser Extensions: Some browser extensions or plugins can interfere with the functioning of websites. Temporarily disable any extensions or plugins you have installed, particularly ad blockers or security extensions, and check if the issue persists.

        • Update Your Browser and Plugins: Ensure that your browser and any relevant plugins (such as Flash or video players) are up to date. Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues or performance problems.

        • Contact Support: If the issue persists or if you encounter more complex technical problems, reach out to the support team of the training system. They can provide specific guidance, troubleshoot the issue further, or provide updates or fixes if necessary.
